What is JumpCloud?
JumpCloud is a cloud directory platform that combines identity management, single sign-on, MFA, and device management for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Its cloud directory also offers LDAP and RADIUS, and it can work alongside Active Directory or replace it.
How much does JumpCloud cost?
JumpCloud’s Device Management package is $9 per user per month billed annually or $11 billed monthly, its SSO package $11 or $13, and its Device Identity Management package $13 or $15. Its Platform Essentials (300 users maximum), Platform, and Platform Prime packages are priced through sales. Single features are sold à la carte, mostly at $3.00 per user per month billed annually or $4.00 billed monthly, and Premium Support is extra. A 30-day free trial is available. HR imports need the SSO package or higher, or SSO bought à la carte for some HR systems. ezOnboard’s pricing is based on the number of employee records we sync, and it’s up to 5× cheaper than JumpCloud. Do we have to give up Active Directory to use JumpCloud?
No. JumpCloud’s Active Directory Integration can extend Active Directory to the cloud, reduce what it manages, or replace it entirely. ezOnboard only works with the directory you have, so keeping Active Directory is the whole point.
Can JumpCloud create Active Directory accounts from our HR system?
Yes, in two steps. An HR import creates the user in JumpCloud, and the AD sync agent then creates them in Active Directory, in the root container chosen at install, with their name, email, password, and groups. ezOnboard creates each account straight from the HR record, in the OU for its role, with attributes such as title, department, and manager.
Does employee data leave our network with ezOnboard?
No. The agent reads HR and updates your directory on your network. Our portal configures and monitors it without storing employee personal data.
Can we use ezOnboard and JumpCloud together?
Yes, as long as only one of them writes to your directory. JumpCloud’s import agent can bring Active Directory users into JumpCloud with Active Directory as the authority. ezOnboard then creates and updates those accounts from HR, and JumpCloud extends them to SSO, RADIUS, and devices.
